You don’t need to live in Boulder to join us; you just need to be the kind of writer who wants to join others in a supportive and rewarding community. You desire to take your writing to the next level and find readers for your work. 

We have a membership level that is perfect for you!

Student Membership – free

You are a newcomer to writing and still dipping your toe in the water.  The fact that you are a newbie is no problem; we’d like to have you get involved. Sign up at the Student Membership level and you’ll receive our free monthly e-newsletter and invitations to selected events.  You may attend one Literary Salon for free. 

Standard Membership – $35 a year

You love books and are a discerning reader.  You take your writing seriously (or as often as is healthy) and are beginning to make your way in the literary world.  You are looking for ways to take your writing to the next level, are seeking support and practical guidance and welcome publishing opportunities. You are beginning to build your buzz and realize that joining a thriving professional organization will get you that much closer to your goals.  You like hanging out with other writers.  Join the Boulder Writers’ Workshop at the Standard Membership level and you’ll receive a free monthly e-newsletter, free admission to our twice-monthly Literary Salons, a 10% discount on all workshops and classes, admission to our critique groups, access to the All-Colorado Writing Events online calendar and the chance to write for the  Writing Colorado Newsletter or The Flatirons Literary Review (in the works).

Professional Membership – $75 a year

You are building your buzz.  You are a published author and want to promote your books and writing services. Or, you are on the verge of being published and are doing some platform building.  You believe in supporting your writing community and doing some fun networking with other members. You want to receive the kinds of support that befit a working writer and recognize that our spotlight is on you.  Professional Membership benefits include invitations to members-only events, inclusion in the professional member directory, listings for your books in the online bookstore (which is affiliated with the Boulder Book Store), a listing for your freelance writing services in the hire-a-writer directory, the chance to host your own Literary Salon, the chance to be featured in our monthly e-newsletter for your awards, readings, publications and signings, the chance to serve as an editor for the Writing Colorado News or The Flatirons Literary Review (forthcoming), the opportunity be featured in a member spotlight, discounts on classes and workshops, and more stuff that we are dreaming up.

Sponsoring Membership – $300 a year

You are an amazing, beloved author, editor, literary  agent, bookstore owner, printer or publisher. You are also a staunch supporter of our literary community. You are selfless and believe in the work that is being done by the Boulder Writers’ Workshop. You understand that our organization depends on membership fees to serve our vibrant community.  Sign up as a Sponsoring Member and you’ll receive all the benefits of a Professional Member, plus be able to promote your  individual or business author services to our organization –coaching, editing, marketing, website development, printing and the suchlike. You will have the opportunity to showcase your services and business with a listing in our monthly newsletter and on our website in the  Author Services Directory.  Please note that this level of membership does not include direct promotion of outside literary, writing and publishing events, classes or workshops that are not offered through the Boulder Writers’ Workshop.  Don’t despair; we do publicize all writing events in Colorado (that we know about) on our All-Colorado Writing Events online calendar, as an exclusive feature for our paying members.  Please see our submission guidelines for how to submit your writing/’publishing event for inclusion in this calendar.
